Alexis Marie creates from a deep love of vibrant color, distinctive texture and dramatic lighting. Her individualized approach flows into each piece of art, making the Alexis Marie creation truly one of a kind.

Growing up, the creative arts were always a big part of Alexis Marie’s life. Her parents would take her to theater festivals, musicals, art gallery openings, museums and even would sit around together and watch old movies. Her parent’s instilled in her a genuine interest in art and the ability to think beyond the box – a gift Alexis Marie holds so dear to this day.

Alexis Marie immersed herself in art & photography classes in school, often enlarging projects into huge creative experiments. She continued her artistic education studying at The Edmonton City Arts Center and Metro Community college while still in high school. She then applied for the Fine Art program at the University of Alberta and was accepted amongst few others as the competition was tough. Over the years, she gained a reputation as an artist who pushes the boundaries of conventional materials to achieve new techniques in art making.

The art of Alexis Marie is beautifully diverse and yet surprisingly unified. She has done in depth work in the areas of abstract painting, mixed media collage and conceptual clothing design. Alexis Marie believes boxing ones self into one category is limiting and hinders experimentation and the accidental masterpiece. She prizes her freedom to create without limits and without expectations.
